Jake Camilleri has carried his quick practice form into Pole Position for Round 2 of the Game Over Australian Endurance Championship, the Sydney 3 Hour.
Camilleri is making a return to his Mercedes-AMG GT for first time in a year has been the pacesetter of the event so far and set a 1m 38.012s to take the honours in Qualifying.
Based on the times set in Qualifying, the Sydney 3 Hour is expected to be closely fought as John Nikolovski was just 0.090 off Camilleri’s benchmark, while AR Nineteen teammate Jamie Arratoon was a further 0.900s in arrears.
All three have strong driver pairing led by Camilleri and last year’s Fight in the Night winner Glenn Walker, Nikolovski is joined by former Supercars star Fabian Coulthard, with teammate Arratoon partnered by TCR race winner Luke King.
Anthony Soole and Grant Denyer are well placed from fourth on the grid in the Property Investment Store McLaren 570s as Steve Jukes will start from fifth in the BMW F82 M4 he will share with Karl Begg.
Anthony Levitt has been impress in the Ginetta G56 alongside Mark Griffith for AR Nineteen Racing, who will share the driving duties with Tom Hayman.
The ATR Motorsport BMW M2 was quick in the hands of Eric Ebert after setting a 1m 41.484s. Ebert will be partnered by Luke Vanna in a potent pairing.
Next up on the grid is the Graeme Wakefield/Craig Allan Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X ahead of the second ATR Motorsport BMW to be shared by Cody and Misty Grimley.
Jim Manteufel and Ben Gersekowski will be ones to watch from the back row in the Man Homes HSV Clubsport R8 alongside the Team Buccini Racing BMW 340i of father-daughter pairing of Paul and Karlie Buccini.
Round 2 of the Game Over Australian Endurance Championship, the Sydney 3 Hour will begin at 12:00pm AEST. The livestream will begin at 12:30pm on the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series YouTube Channel.
