Tony Quinn and Matt McCutcheon have replicated their earlier success at Queensland Raceway to take victory in the Fight in the Night presented by Btuned.
Sharing the Game Over Toyota GR Supra, Quinn and McCutcheon took a narrow victory in a race of attrition.
The pair also won Class 2 from the second-placed outright entry of Rob Gooley and Maika Ter Horst teaming in the Speedcafe.com BMW F82 M4, while the Mark Griffith/Tom Hayman AR Nineteen Mercedes-AMG GT completed the podium in addition taking the Class 1 honours.
An impressive fourth outright was the Class 3 winning team of Paul and Karlie Buccini in their BMW M140i.
Fabian Coulthard led the way off the start in the AR Nineteen Mercedes-AMG GT he shared alongside John Nikolovski, but the entry encountered troubles early to finish fifth outright by the end of the three hour encounter.
It was a dramatic opening to the race, with Jake Camilleri pursuing Coulthard in the Grand Prix Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT and successfully making his way past to take an early lead by the close of the opening lap.
The CMA Car Mods Australia Ford Mustang of Lindsay Kearns and Brad Carr was an early retirement due to brake problems, while the new Audi RS3 of Dan Lindley/Pat Barnett endured similar problems.
Another entry to experience problems was the Steve Jukes/Karl Begg BMW F82 GT4 when it fell into limp mode, with it running at reduced performance.
Camilleri survived to lead the way from Luke King in another of the AR Nineteen Mercedes-AMG GTs until the Round 2 winner elected to pit to change to Glenn Walker.
King was delayed when he stopped at the hour mark to hand over to Jamie Arratoon, but a slow pit stop dropped the team back to fourth as Walker moved into the lead.
But the leading Mercedes-AMG GT retired after Walker clipped the gutter at pit entry and incurred suspension damage.
Next to bite the dust was the Arratoon/King Mercedes-AMG GT due to mechanical problems, while the bulletproof Ginetta G56 V8 of Anthony Levitt/Angus Baills also dropped out as a result of driveline maladies.
ATR Motorsport’s Luke Vanna driving the team’s BMW M2 was now in the lead from Chis Pappas in the TekworkX Motorsport McLaren 570s and Ter Horst.
Luck turned next on the Vanna/Eric Ebert M2 when it hit mechanical problems giving Ter Horst the lead.
Meanwhile, Quinn and McCutcheon’s steady strategy came to the fore when Ter Horst pitted to hand over to Gooley at the final stop. This elevated the Game Over Toyota GR Supra to a lead it held until the end through McCutcheon’s steady approach.
Despite all the troubles, the sole Pace Car period came towards the race’s conclusion when the Patrick Navin Volkswagen Scirocco R stopped on-track after an engine problem.
McCutcheon took the Game Over team’s second win at Queensland Raceway after taking out the opening round, while Gooley/Ter Horst and Hayman/Griffith.
Round 4 of the Game Over Australian Endurance Championship will be the Sandown 6 Hour on December 4-6.
